It all started in 2019, where our paths crossed at work. After some flirty Teams messages and cheeky looks across the office, we ended up getting together at a work social at Bongos Bingo...

After 10 months of secret (but not-so-secret) dating, we decided to take the plunge and make our relationship official. Little did we know that the next week we'd go into lockdown! So, instead of going on a first official date, we moved in together. A totally normal step for a new relationship.

That first year was a blur; filled with fits of laughter, walks around Chorlton Waterpark, meeting friends and family via zoom, celebrating Wayne’s 30th Birthday, far too many Thai Spice takeaways and every single Marvel movie (we've watched End Game at least 8 times by now). When the time came for lockdown restrictions to lift and for Abbie to move back to her flat, we decided to just keep going and bought a house in Didsbury instead. (Shout out to Abbie’s Mum for fixing our botched attempt at painting the house!!)

Fast forward to 2022, and we quit our jobs to travel. Our 6 weeks around America and Mexico were brilliant, and very convenient as we somehow managed to be away the exact length of time Liz Truss was in office. After a few months at home for Christmas, we then left to explore South-East Asia and Australia for four months and truly had the most incredible time.

It was in April 2024, almost 1 year after coming back home, that Wayne decided it was time to pop the question whilst we were out to dinner with friends, George & Laura. We're pretty sure Laura cried more than Abbie.
